Playing your favorite game, Minecraft, with your friends is the best way to enjoy your life. The king and sitting on Minecraft land or a local area network server will allow you to play together without any internet connection or third-party hosting service. In this detailed article, we will talk about how to set up a LAN and enjoy with friends locally. Whether you are posting on a home or when it works on a wired LAN and set up, you will be up and running in no time.

    What You’ll Need:

YOU SHOULD KNOW SOMETHING BEFORE DIVING INTO THE SET. UP THERE IS SOMETHING THAT YOU WILL NEED, WHICH ARE!

    • A Minecraft Java Edition installation on each device.
    • All players must be connected to the same local Network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
    • A stable local network connection between devices.
    • Basic knowledge of how to navigate your computer’s settings.

If you have everything ready, let’s get started.

Step 1: Start a Minecraft Single Player World

The first step in setting up a LAN server is to load the world you’ll open to the Network.

    1. Open the Minecraft app and click on Solar Player from the main menu.
    2. You can always create a new world or select a world that is already there. I want to start fresh, so click “create a new world” and choose your preferred game setting, such as what kind of world, what level of difficulty, etc.
    3. Once you are in the world, you are ready to open the LAN network. This is where the magic happens, so stick around.

Now, you are also to say hello. There are other plans to join your wound and play with you.

Step 2: Open the World to LAN

Let’s proceedproceed to the next. Once you have entered the world you want to join, follow these particular steps to allow your friend to join.

    1. Press the Esc key to open the in-game menu.
    2. Click on Open to LAN. This action will make your game accessible to other players on the same Network.
    3. You’ll be prompted with several options:
      • Game Mode: select whether you want to play a game of survival of creativity or adventure mode.
      • Allow Cheats: If you want to command or cheat in your game, turn on this setting.
    4. After selecting your options, click Start LAN World. The game will take some time to start the game.

Now that you have opened the world to LAN, Minecraft will play a message that also includes the fact that your game is now hosted on a local Network, for example.

“Local game hosted on port 12345”

This port number is essential for others to connect to your server. Keep it handy!

Step 3: Find Your Computer’s Local IP Address

Okay, here comes the main part: you must find your computer IP address to allow your friends to join your game and play with you. This address I didn’t define your computer on your Network.

    On Windows:

    1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
    2. Type cmd and hit Enter to open the Command Prompt.
    3. Type ipconfig and press Enter.
    4. Look for the IPv4 Address under your active network connection (typically something like 192.168.x.x).

    On Mac:

    1. Go to System Preferences > Network.
    2. Select your active network connection (e.g., Wi-Fi).
    3. Your IP address will be listed on the right side of the window.

As your friends must join your local LAN, write down the IP address.

Step 4: Join the LAN Server from a Friend’s Computer

Now that the server is set up and you have your eyelet dress, it is time for your friends to join the game. Follow these simple steps.

    1. Have your friends launch Minecraft on their computers or other devices.
    2. Tell them to click on the multiplayer option from the main menu.
    3. The game will automatically search for LAN games available on the same Network. Your game should show up under the LAN game selections. If they can see it, they can also simply join by clicking join.

What if your friend doesn’t see the game? There is an alternative. In some cases, Minecraft may not detect the game automatically don’t. Don’t forget there is an easy fix for this.

    1. Click on Direct Connect in the Multiplayer menu.
    2. In the Server Address field, your friend should enter your IP address followed by the port number, such as 192.168.x.x:12345.
    3. After entering the address, click Join.

Once your friends are connected, they will join the world you have opened up, and you and both of your friends will be able to play together.

    Step 5: Troubleshooting Common Issues

Your great planning always has some problems, and these also have some common problems. These are the problems and solutions.

    1. Game Not Showing Up for Friends

    • Same Network: Double-check that both devices are connected to the same Network. Suppose the F1 computer is connected to two other Wi-Fi networks or a different subnet. In that case, it won’t be able to connect to your games.
    • Firewall Settings: firewalls unblock your connection. You operate it to allow Minecraft through your firewall. Go to your Control Panel > Windows Defender Firewall on Windows, and ensure Minecraft is listed as an exception.

    2. Unable to Connect to the LAN World

    • Incorrect IP Address: Ensure your friends use the correct IP address. The IP address you provided must match the one on the hosting computer, and the port number must be accurate (e.g., 192.168.x.x:12345).
    • Port Forwarding: mainly, it doesn’t require boat forwarding, but if you’re using a router with alphabet configurations, you might need to open the messages reports. You can search your router’s manual to ensure network configuration.

    Alternative Solutions

There are always alternative situations. Suppose you want to continue to run into issues or have one freedom. In that case, alternative ways exist to use a LAN connection.

    Minecraft Realms

    • Minecraft Realms has the official paid service from Mojang, allowing you to go home and use the Minecraft server online. While it is not a free line like me, LAN play will always provide a table network on a server that can be accessed from anywhere at any time. If you are always using it to play regularly with friends and want to avoid setting up a LAN connection, Minecraft is the best option.
    • Third-party hosting services. There are also many third-party Minecraft server hosting providers where you can get other offers that are very affordable. They give great services like Aternos (free), Apex Hosting, and HostHorde, which let you host your own server. You can join with your plans from anywhere, even without being on the same local Network.

    Conclusion

We honestly believe that setting up a Minecraft LAN connection server is an easy and fun way to enjoy the game with your friends. It doesn’t require an internet connection or any third-party hosting services. By following the steps in the guide, you can quickly open your own to others and start enjoying the game with strangers together.

If you encounter any issues, the troubleshooting tips should be full of ways to resolve comment problems. Of course, you can always use Minecraft or third-party hosting if your LAN does not play out at your word.

No, then go ahead and enjoy Minecraft with your friends, happy building, crafting, and exploring.
